This report, produced by Oxford Consultants (OCSI) in partnership with the Rural Community Council of Essex, provides up-to-date small-area data and key indicators from over 50 trusted sources to support Parish Councils and others in understanding  the Little Hallingbury area. The data is a summary of key population demographics. These population figures provide detail of  the structure of the population by five year age bands taken from the most recent Mid-Year Estimates from the Office for National Statistics Office for National Statistics Census Data.

Covering:  Community, Economy, Education, Housing and Population.

A residents’ questionnaire was undertaken in Sept / Oct 2023 and used to gauge the key issues and views of residents and their suggestions for the future of Little Hallingbury.

The Uttlesford Green Belt Review 2016 and its June 2024  Addendum assess the extent, purpose, and boundaries of the district’s Green Belt, providing evidence to guide planning decisions and ensure that development respects its long-term function of preventing urban sprawl and  protecting open land.

 A survey was undertaken in May 2024 to ascertain any housing need or requirement the village might have, and whether this could be addressed in the Neighbourhood Plan.

 Commissioned by the Little Hallingbury Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group on behalf of the Parish Council and prepared by AECOM in 2024 , this report establishes design principles for preserving and enhancing the villages’s unique character. 

The Uttlesford Design Code sets clear standards to guide new developments in the district ensuring it is sustainable, high quality, and enhances the character and quality of life for local communities. 

These reports provide a locally based Landscape Character Assessment (LCA) and Landscape Sensitivity Assessment of Little Hallingbury Parish, the project area of the Neighbourhood Plan.They were commissioned by the Little Hallingbury Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group on behalf of the Parish Council and prepared by Liz Lake Associates.

Draft Vision, Objectives and Policies Consultation (October 2024). A public consultation event was held on the weekend of 12th-13th October 2024. Attendees provided comments via feedback forms and indicated their agreement or disagreement with the vision and objectives and each draft policy, by placing stickers on themed posters. All comments received were reviewed and responded to, with replies shared with individual contributors and made available to the wider community.

The Uttlesford Open Space Update Report (June 2024)reviews the quantity, quality, and accessibility of open spaces across the        district to inform panning, community needs, and future investment.

This strategy sets out a county-wide roadmap to restore and enhance biodiversity by mapping priority areas for habitat creation and nature recovery across Essex.

This inventory is a national dataset that identifies and maps habitats of principle importance for biodiversity conservation, guiding public bodies and landowners in protecting 27 priority habitat types across England.
