A Neighbourhood Plan Update: from Draft to Delivery

The Next Steps

Thanks to the dedication of residents, councillors, and volunteers, the Little Hallingbury Neighbourhood Plan is progressing well. After months of evidence gathering, policy drafting, and community input, the draft has been reviewed by Uttlesford District Council and the project is now moving into its next phase.

Refining the Draft

We’re now briefing professional planning and design consultants to help refine the draft and ensure it’s robust, accessible, and ready for formal consultation. Their expertise will support us in translating our shared vision into a clear, policy-compliant document that reflects the priorities of our Parish.

Regulation 14 Consultation - Coming Soon

In November 2025, all residents will be invited to review the full draft Plan and share feedback. The Reg 14 Consultation will run for a period of eight weeks, giving plenty of opportunity to review the draft document. This is your chance to influence the final version before it goes to examination and adoption.

Get Involved

We’ll be announcing consultation dates, including drop-in events, and on-line access in the coming weeks. Your input – whether a suggestion, concern, or show of support – will help shape a plan that truly reflects our community’s values.

Why Your Feedback Matters

This is the final major opportunity to contribute before the plan is submitted for independent examination. Every comment helps ensure it protects Little Hallingbury’s character and stands up to scrutiny. After the Regulation 14 consultation the plan will be submitted for independent examination, anticipated to take place in Spring 2026.

Referendum: Your Vote, Your Plan

Once the plan passes independent examination it will go to a Parish-wide referendum. This is the final stage – if a majority of residents vote in favour, the plan becomes official planning policy. Your vote will help secure the future of Little Hallingbury’s landscape, heritage, and development priorities.

Let's Keep the Momentum Going

This is a community-led effort, and your participation is vital. Together, we’re building a future that honours our parish’s identity and priorities.
